Natamycin eye drops (imported) Natamet is a milky white suspension liquid. Already available in India.
[Natamycin Eye Drops Indications]
Blepharitis, conjunctivitis and keratitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to this product, including Fusarium solani keratitis.
[Natamycin Eye Drops Usage and Dosage]
Shake well before use. The optimal starting dose of natamycin eye drops for the treatment of fungal keratitis is 1 drop every 1-2 hours, instilled into the conjunctival sac. After 3-4 days, change to 1 drop each time, 6-8 times a day. Treatment usually lasts 14-21 days or until active fungal keratitis resolves. In most cases, gradual reduction of the drug dosage every 4-7 days is necessary to ensure elimination of pathogen replication. The initial dose for the treatment of fungal blepharitis and conjunctivitis can be smaller, 1 drop each time, 4-6 times a day.
[Natamycin Eye Drops Side Effects]
Occasionally there are local transient irritation symptoms. May produce localized burns and foreign body sensation. In addition, eyelid edema, tearing, photophobia, reduced vision, and allergic reactions are less common.
[Natamycin eye drops interaction]
After long-term and large-scale use and local absorption, it can produce the same drug interactions as systemic drugs, such as increasing the blood concentration of theophylline, cyclosporine, probenecid and other drugs, enhancing the anticoagulant effect of the anticoagulant warfarin, and interfering with the metabolism of caffeine.
