Efavirenz / Emtricitabine / Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate is an antiviral drug that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying.
It belongs to the class of drugs known as antiretrovirals. It works by inhibiting the enzyme required for DNA synthesis (nucleoside reverse transcriptase), thereby reducing its growth and reducing the amount of HIV in the body.
Efavirenz/emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is used to treat HIV, which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It does not cure HIV or AIDS.
