Ramosetron Hydrochloride

　　【Indications】

　　This product is indicated for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D)in adult patients.

　　【Recommended Dose】

　　If symptoms continue to improve with this medication,it should not be used indefinitely.Consideration should be given to continuing or discontinuing treatment approximately 3 months after initiating therapy.

　　Male diarrhea-predominant IBS:

　　Typically,5 mcg per dose,orally,once daily.The dose may be adjusted based on symptoms,but the maximum daily dose should not exceed 10 mcg.

　　Female diarrhea-predominant IBS:

　　Typically,2.5 mcg per dose,orally,once daily.If efficacy is insufficient,the dose may be increased,but the maximum daily dose should not exceed 5 mcg.

　　【Adverse Reactions】

　　The main adverse reactions(≥5%)are constipation and hard stools.

　　【Pharmacology】

　　Blocking 5-HT3 receptors inhibits increased intestinal motility and diarrhea,as well as the hypersensitivity reaction to colonic pain.

　　【Storage】

　　Store protected from light,in a tightly sealed container,at room temperature.
