How long does it take for Adagrasib to be effective?
Adagrasib is an oral small molecule inhibitor that targets KRAS G12C mutations. It is mainly used to treat malignant tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that carry such gene mutations. As a new member of the same class of targeted drugs, adagrasib has shown good efficacy in clinical studies, and some patients can see remission soon after starting treatment.
According to the current public clinical data, some patients who receive adagrasiib can observe initial effects within 2 to 4 weeks after taking the drug, which is manifested as symptom improvement, such as reduction of cough, improvement of breathing smoothness, or reduction of pain. Imaging evaluations done during this time may also show a decrease in tumor size, suggesting that the drugs are starting to work.

However, the specific onset of effect varies between individuals, and some patients may take longer to show efficacy. For example, signs of tumor control or shrinkage may only appear after 6 to 8 weeks of treatment. Therefore, even if no significant changes are immediately observed in the first few weeks after starting treatment, treatment should not be discontinued hastily. Regular review, evaluation of drug efficacy, and treatment adjustments must be made under the guidance of a doctor.
In general, the onset of effect of adagrasib is usually within 1 to 2 cycles (about a month) after taking the drug, but there are also individual differences. In order to ensure the accuracy of efficacy evaluation, it is recommended that patients insist on taking medications as prescribed, undergo regular imaging examinations and blood index monitoring, and provide timely feedback on discomfort or changes in efficacy during medication, so that doctors can make scientific follow-up treatment decisions.
