List of effects, effects and prices of bimetinib/bemetinib
Binimetinib is an oral small molecule inhibitor targeting the MEK1/2 enzyme. MEK1/2 is a key node in the MAPK signaling pathway and is found to be highly active in a variety of tumor types, especially in tumors carrying BRAF V600 mutations. By blocking this signaling pathway, bimetinib can effectively inhibit the division and proliferation of tumor cells and delay disease progression. This drug is currently widely used to treat patients with BRAF mutant advanced melanoma, especially when combined with the BRAF inhibitor canafenib (Encorafenib). It has clinically shown synergistic effects and has been approved by drug regulatory agencies in many countries, such as the FDA and EMA, as part of a combination treatment regimen.

In addition to melanoma, bimetinib is also exploring targeted therapy for a variety of solid tumors, such asRAS mutant tumors, some thyroid cancers or colorectal cancers, showing therapeutic promise. However, it should be noted that this drug is not suitable for all tumor types, and genetic testing must be performed before use to determine whether the target exists.
In terms of price, original drugs in European and American countries are generally sold under the trade name "Mektovi". The mainstream specification is 15mg tablets. A box contains 84 or 168 tablets. The price of each box is around RMB 20,000, which may fluctuate depending on the region, supply channels and exchange rates. Due to the high price, medical insurance in many countries or regions does not fully cover all indications, placing a heavy financial burden on patients. To solve this problem, generic drugs from Laos, India and other places began to enter the market. Taking the generic version launched by Lucius Pharmaceutical Factory in Laos as an example, the price of 15 mg × 180 tablets is about more than 6,000 yuan, which is significantly lower than the original drug. The ingredients and dosage forms of these generics are basically the same and can provide similar therapeutic effects under strict quality control. However, it is still recommended to be guided by professional doctors when choosing generic drugs to ensure efficacy and safety.
