What is the relationship between Zolbetuximab and Zolbetuximab and vyloy
Zoltuximab,Zolbetuximab and Vyloy are actually different names for the same drug. Zolbetuximab is the drug's generic name, and Vyloy is its trade name. It is a new type of targeted therapy drug mainly used to treat HER2-negative gastric cancer and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, especially those with Claudin 18.2-positive patients. This drug exerts its anti-tumor effect by specifically targeting the Claudin 18.2 protein expressed on the surface of cancer cells, helping to improve the therapeutic effects of patients with these types of cancer.

Vyloy (trade name) is the brand name under which Zolbetuximab is marketed, like many drugs that may have different brand names in different regions. Although there are no changes in the chemical composition and therapeutic mechanism of the drug, the difference in trade name sometimes leads to some confusion among patients when querying drug information. In other words, whether it is Zolbetuximab or Vyloy, they refer to the same drug, just with different names.
Zotuximab (Vyloy) is mainly used in combination with chemotherapy drugs to treat patients with Claudin 18.2-positive gastric cancer. Its mechanism of action is to selectively kill cancer cells expressing Claudin 18.2 through antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). This gives it significant therapeutic potential in the treatment of gastric cancer, especially for patients for whom traditional chemotherapy is unsatisfactory.
In clinical practice, the use of Vyloy requires strict indication screening. This drug can only be considered if the patient has gastric cancer or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma that is Claudin 18.2 positive. That's why testing requirements for this drug are critical to treatment, helping doctors determine which patients may benefit from it.
