What medicine can replace Fulvestrant?
Fulvestrant is a drug used to treat breast cancer. It belongs to a class of drugs called estrogen receptor antagonists, which work primarily by blocking the activity of estrogen receptors. There is currently no drug that can completely replace fulvestrant because it has a special mechanism of action and efficacy. If the patient has adverse reactions to fulvestrant or is unable to use it, doctors may consider other treatment options. For example, letrozole is an oral nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor that can inhibit the synthesis of estrogen, thereby reducing estrogen levels and inhibiting the growth of breast cancer cells. Letrozole may be used as an alternative to fulvestrant for the treatment of patients with advanced breast cancer.
