Metabolism of Deferasirox dispersible tablets

Deferasirox dispersible tablets (Deferasirox) is metabolized primarily by glucuronidation, followed by biliary excretion. In the intestine, deferasirox undergoes uncoupling and is recycled to the liver. Its main excretion pathway is fecal excretion, accounting for approximately 84%, while renal excretion is the smallest excretion pathway, accounting for only 8%. The elimination time of this drug is 8 to 16 hours. The occurrence of adverse reactions may be dose-related, with the most commonly reported adverse reactions including gastrointestinal discomfort and rash. Additionally, this tablet contains lactose and is not recommended for patients with rare genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, severe lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
