Is Nivolumab a chemotherapy drug?

Nivolumab (Nivolumab) is a targeted immunotherapy drug called an immune checkpoint inhibitor (a type of immunotherapy). It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the PD-1 protein on the surface of immune cells called T cells. It works by preventing cancer cells from suppressing the immune system, which allows the immune system to attack and kill cancer cells. Immunotherapy, unlike traditional chemotherapy drugs, may take longer to work because once nivolumab starts helping the immune system find cancer cells, it takes time for the immune system to recognize and attack them.
