Can I still take Niraparib if I have low platelets?

Niraparib (Niraparib’s prescribing information shows that patients are treated with niraparib until intolerable toxicity occurs. Hematologic adverse reactions, including thrombocytopenia, anemia, neutropenia, and/or pancytopenia, have been reported in patients treated with niraparib. Patients should have complete blood counts monitored weekly for the first month, monthly for the next 11 months, and regularly thereafter. If hematologic toxicity does not resolve within 28 days of discontinuation, discontinue niraparib. This dose adjustment or interruption is done to allow your blood counts or other serious side effects to improve.
