Are the side effects of obeticholic acid serious?

Obeticholic acid (Obeticholic acid) is suitable for the treatment of adults with primary cholangitis (PBC), the most common side effect Effects include pruritus, fatigue, and abdominal pain/discomfort, and other reported side effects include rash, oropharyngeal pain, dizziness, constipation, arthralgia, dyslipidemia, headache, eczema, depression, allergic reactions, and thyroid dysfunction. The incidence of pruritus has been shown to be dose-dependently increased and was higher when obeticholic acid was used as monotherapy. After obeticholic acid was put on the market, adverse reactions such as liver failure, new cirrhosis, increase in direct bilirubin and total bilirubin, and new or worsening jaundice occurred.
