Pertuzumab and Herceptin Side Effects

Herceptin is the trade name of trastuzumab. In clinical trials of the combination treatment of pertuzumab and trastuzumab for metastatic breast cancer, more than half of the users experienced side effects including diarrhea, alopecia and neutropenia; more than 10% experienced neutropenia and leukopenia accompanied by fever. After marketing, cases of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) may occur in patients. In neoadjuvant clinical trials for breast cancer, more than 50% of people developed alopecia and neutropenia. If the patient develops hyperuricemia, hyperphosphatemia, and acute renal failure, this may indicate the occurrence of TLS.
