Will pazopanib affect pregnancy?

Based on the results of animal studies and the mechanism of action of pazopanib, pazopanib can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women. Administration of pazopanib to pregnant rats and rabbits during organogenesis resulted in maternal toxicity, teratogenicity, and abortion at systemic exposures below the maximum recommended human dose (MRHD) of 800 mg (based on the area under the curve [AUC]). Advise females of reproductive potential to use effective contraception during treatment with pazopanib and for at least 2 weeks after the last dose, and men of female partners of reproductive potential (including men who have had a vasectomy) to use condoms during treatment with pazopanib and for at least 2 weeks after the last dose.
