Ponatinib and palbociclib are two different drugs used for different treatment purposes. Ponatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor commonly used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL). It prevents the growth and spread of abnormal cells by inhibiting the activity of the BCR-ABL fusion protein. It is not suitable for and is not recommended for the treatment of newly diagnosed CP-CML. Platinib is a CDK4/6 inhibitor used to treat breast cancer. It inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by blocking CDK4 and CDK6 activity in the cell cycle.
