What disease does everolimus treat?

Everolimus is widely used to prevent rejection after organ transplantation. It improves the success rate of transplantation by suppressing the activity of the immune system and reducing the chance of the immune system attacking the transplanted organ. Everolimus is also used in the treatment of certain types of breast cancer. Especially in patients with hormone receptor-positive (ER+) and HER2-negative breast cancer, everolimus is often used in combination with hormonal therapy to improve treatment efficacy and prolong progression survival. Everolimus is used in the treatment of certain neuroendocrine tumors. It can be used with other drugs to slow the growth and spread of tumors. Everolimus is also used to treat meningiomas associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
