Do I need to avoid light when taking Trastuzumab?

When patients receive Trastuzumab injections, they usually do not need to be protected from light, but do not freeze. If not used immediately after reconstitution, store the reconstituted Herceptin solution at 2-8°C (36°F to 46°F) for 24 hours; discard any unused trastuzumab after 24 hours. When trastuzumab is used to treat breast cancer that has spread, it is usually given once a week; when used to prevent breast cancer from coming back, it is usually given once a week during treatment with other chemotherapy drugs, and then every 3 weeks for 52 weeks after treatment with other drugs is completed; when used to treat gastric cancer, it is usually given once every 3 weeks.
