Trastuzumab (Trastuzumab) is a recombinant DNA humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Roche Pharma (Schweiz). Trastuzumab can interfere with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. Trastuzumab is used with or after other drugs to treat certain types of breast cancer that have spread to other parts of the body. It is also used during and after treatment with other drugs to reduce the chance that a certain type of breast cancer will come back. Trastuzumab is also used with other drugs to treat certain types of stomach cancer that have spread to other parts of the body. Trastuzumab belongs to a class of drugs called monoclonal antibodies, which work by stopping the growth of cancer cells.
