Is tucatinib a hormonal drug?
Tucatinib (tucatinib) is not a hormonal drug. It is a targeted drug for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, rather than a hormonal drug. Hormone therapy is often used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, a type of breast cancer that is sensitive to estrogen or progesterone and relies on stimulation by these hormones to grow and spread. Unlike hormone therapy, tucatinib treats HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer by inhibiting the activity of the HER2 receptor to interfere with the proliferation and survival of tumor cells. Tucatinib is usually used in combination with other drugs such as trastuzumab and capecitabine to form a triple therapy to improve the therapeutic effect of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer.
