Will resistance to Trametinib develop?

Author: medicalhalo
Release time: 2026-02-01 22:25:32

Trametinib is an oral drug widely used to treat certain types of cancer. However, like other anticancer drugs, long-term use of trametinib may cause cancer cells to develop resistance to it. Drug resistance means that the response of cancer cells to a specific drug is weakened or eliminated, making the drug ineffective in inhibiting the growth and spread of cancer cells. The occurrence of drug resistance is a complex process involving multiple mechanisms, including gene mutations, activation of signaling pathways, and changes in the tumor microenvironment. During treatment with trametinib, patients may develop drug resistance. If a patient initially responds well but then progresses or stops responding to trametinib, this may be due to the development of drug resistance.
