For the treatment of polyarticular course juvenile idiopathic arthritis, the tablets or oral solution are usually taken twice daily, with or without food. Doctors may recommend that patients get a blood test before starting treatment with tofacitinib tablets. If it is effective for a patient's condition, improvement will usually be seen within eight weeks, but some people may start to feel relief as early as three days after starting treatment. If you don't see any improvement in your symptoms after six months of treatment with tofacitinib, your doctor may decide to stop taking tofacitinib.
