Side effects of using Ziv-aflibercept

The most common side effects that may have occurred in the trial study of aflibercept (Ziv-aflibercept) (≥5%) in the trial study with irinotecan were neutropenia, diarrhea, hypertension, leukopenia, stomatitis, fatigue, proteinuria, and asthenia. Like all therapeutic proteins, aflibercept is potentially immunogenic. In patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, serious allergic reactions were reported in the aflibercept plus irinotecan group (0.3%), and venous thromboembolic events (VTE), primarily consisting of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, occurred in 9% of patients and pulmonary embolism occurred in 5% of patients.
