Cycloserine (Cycloserine) is a second-line anti-tuberculosis drug, often used in the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. It helps control the spread of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. But its neurotoxicity worries patients. This drug may cause dizziness, anxiety, and even seizures by interfering with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) synthesis. Preventive measures include: assessing psychiatric history before medication, regularly monitoring blood drug concentration during treatment, and supplementing vitamin B6 (50 mg vitamin B6 for every 250 mg cycloserine). If insomnia or mood swings occur, sedative drugs can be used in combination, but alcohol intake should be avoided to prevent aggravation of nerve damage. Patients need to strictly follow the doctor's instructions to adjust the dosage and do not increase or decrease on their own.
