Can clofazimine cure lupus erythematosus? What is the effect?
Clofazimine (Clofazimine) was originally an antibacterial drug for the treatment of leprosy. However, in recent years, some doctors have tried to use it to treat autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), especially cutaneous lupus lupus (CLE), which has shown certain efficacy. Its mechanism of action is mainly through anti-inflammatory and immune regulation to reduce erythema, desquamation and itching of skin lesions. However, it needs to be clear that clofazimine is not a first-line or standard treatment for lupus erythematosus, and there are currently no large-scale clinical studies to support that its single drug can "cure" lupus. In most cases, it is used in combination with drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and corticosteroids to enhance the control of skin reactions.
