Indications of Delamanid/Delba

Delamanid/Delamanid is mainly indicated for the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in adults. The drug is particularly useful in TB patients who have developed resistance to traditional first-line anti-TB drugs such as isoniazid and rifampicin. In addition, it is also suitable for HIV carriers and patients with extrapulmonary tuberculosis who have no absolute contraindications and where the expected treatment effect outweighs the potential damage. However, in pregnant women, delamanid is not recommended because animal studies have shown reproductive toxicity. When using delamanid, special attention must be paid to its possible side effects of prolonging the Q-T interval, and regular electrocardiogram monitoring is required.
