Cycloserine (Cycloserine) plays an important role in the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB). These forms of TB show resistance to conventional anti-TB drugs such as isoniazid and rifampin and therefore require reliance on second-line anti-TB drugs for treatment. As one of the second-line anti-tuberculosis drugs, cycloserine fights Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is often used as part of a combination treatment regimen with other anti-tuberculosis drugs such as aminoglycosides, quinolones, etc., to enhance the therapeutic effect and reduce the development of drug resistance. Treatment of cases of multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis is often complex and lengthy, requiring strict medication compliance and regular monitoring of efficacy. The use of cycloserine in these situations requires physicians to develop an individualized treatment plan based on the patient's specific situation and resistance test results.
