What kind of medicine is ensidipine? What are the indications?

Enasidenib was developed as a cancer drug to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adult patients whose cancer cells have genetic mutations (changes) in a protein called IDH2 and who are unable to receive intensive cancer treatments. Ensidipine will be used in patients who have not responded to treatment (refractory) or have come back (relapsed) after previous treatment, including a hematopoietic stem cell transplant (the transplanted cells can develop into different types of blood cells). Ensidipine, which will be available as tablets, has also been designated as an 'orphan drug' (a drug used for a rare disease) in some countries for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.
