Are avatrombopag tablets useful for hemoglobin?

Avatrombopag tablets are mainly used to treat idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Its mechanism of action is to increase the number of platelets by stimulating platelet production in the bone marrow. Although avatrombopag is effective in increasing platelet counts, it does not directly affect hemoglobin (hemoglobin) levels. Therefore, the effect of avatrombopag tablets on hemoglobin is usually indirect, mainly by improving ITP symptoms and reducing the occurrence of bleeding, thereby reducing anemia caused by bleeding. In some people with ITP, chronically low platelet counts may cause bleeding, which can affect hemoglobin levels. Therefore, avatrombopag may help maintain or improve hemoglobin levels by increasing platelet counts and reducing bleeding events.
