How to Take Tucatinib (Tukysa): Dosing Schedule, Combination Use & Missed Dose Guidance
Tucatinib(Tukysa)is an oral HER2-targeted therapy typically taken twice a day,approximately 12 hours apart.The most important rule is consistency:take it at the same times every day,with or without food.
Timing:Food is not a restriction.For example,8:00 AM and 8:00 PM works well,as long as the interval stays close to 12 hours and the routine is stable.
With capecitabine:In HER2-positive breast cancer regimens,tucatinib can be taken at the same time as capecitabine.However,capecitabine should be taken within 30 minutes after a meal,so the two medicines have different administration requirements.
Missed dose or vomiting:If you miss a dose,skip it and take the next dose at the regular time—do not double up.If you vomit after taking a dose,do not repeat it;resume your normal schedule.
Tablet handling:Swallow tablets whole.Do not split,chew,or crush them.Do not use tablets that are broken,cracked,or damaged.
Dose and treatment duration must be determined by your oncology team.Do not adjust or stop treatment on your own.
