Xiidra

Lifitegrast eye drops have been approved in the United States for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. After use, it can significantly improve symptoms such as dry eyes, fatigue, itching, foreign body sensation, burning sensation, photophobia, and blurred vision.

Xiidra

In three 12-week Phase 3 studies (OPUS-1, OPUS-2, and OPUS-3), Xiidra 5% eye drops were compared with vehicle in patients with dry eye syndrome.

Overall, the results of these trials support the therapeutic efficacy of Xiidra 5% in improving dry eye symptoms (i.e., change in visual analogue score of eye dryness from baseline to day 84) and signs of dry eye (i.e., change in inferior corneal fluorescein staining score from baseline to day 84).

The study found that Xiidra is generally well tolerated and can effectively improve the symptoms and signs of dry eye within 12 weeks. In short, Xiidra eye drops provide a new option for the treatment of dry eye.

Precautions when using Xiidra

1. Contact lenses should be removed before using Xiidra and can be put back on 15 minutes after administration.

2. During the medication period, stop using drugs and eye cosmetics that can cause dry eyes, and temporarily stop wearing contact lenses, contact lenses, etc.

3. Pay attention to eye hygiene and do not rub or rub your eyes with your hands frequently.

4. Maintain good eye-using habits, avoid excessive eye use, avoid staying up late, and pay attention to rest after long-term eye use, such as hot compress, massage, etc.

5. You can usually eat more foods rich in vitamin A, such as carrots, animal liver, tomatoes, etc. Vitamin A can promote and maintain the growth of epithelial tissue, which is beneficial to improving dry eye syndrome.

6. Do not touch the tip of the disposable container of Litalast to your eyes or the surface of other objects to avoid eye damage or solution contamination.

7. If symptoms such as allergic reactions, bronchospasm, respiratory distress, pharyngeal edema, tongue swelling, urticaria, allergic conjunctivitis, dyspnea, angioedema and atopic dermatitis occur during medication, the medication should be stopped immediately and the doctor should be informed in time for emergency treatment.
