【Indications】

Desosumab Xgeva is indicated for the prevention of bone-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors. Important limitations to the use of denosumab Xgeva: It is not indicated for the prevention of bone-related events in patients with multiple myeloma.

【Usage and Dosage】

Recommended usage and dosage of denosumab While being treated with denosumab Xgeva, patients need to take 1000mg of calcium and at least 4001U of vitamin D per day. It is worth noting that unlike bisphosphonates, which maintain long-term effects, denosumab Xgeva does not bind to its receptors for long-term retention. 

【Adverse reactions】

The most common adverse reactions in patients receiving denosumab Xgeva include: fatigue/asthenia/hypophosphatemia/nausea.

【Notes】

Hypocalcemia must be corrected before starting treatment with denosumab Xgeva. For patients who are prone to hypocalcemia and mineral metabolism imbalance, it is necessary to closely monitor their creatinine and mineral levels in clinical practice, and instruct such patients to pay attention to the symptoms of hypocalcemia and to supplement adequate amounts of calcium and vitamin D.

Patients who are concurrently taking immunosuppressants or have compromised immune systems may be at increased risk of serious infections, and physicians need to fully consider the benefit-risk ratio before prescribing denosumab Xgeva to such patients. Physicians should evaluate the need to continue denosumab Xgeva treatment in patients who develop serious infections while taking denosumab Xgeva.

Routine oral examination should be performed before starting denosumab Xgeva treatment, and good oral hygiene should be maintained after starting denosumab Xgeva treatment.

Xgeva should be refrigerated at 2-8°C (36-46°F); do not freeze. Desosomes Xgeva must be used within 14 days after being taken out of the refrigerator. Desosumab Xgeva should not be exposed to temperatures above 25°C (77°F), and avoid direct light and heat.
