Germany's Boehringer Ingelheim Respimat (generic name: tiotropium bromide/olodaterol, Spiolto® Respimat®) is a drug developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. It has been officially approved by the China Food and Drug Administration and is suitable for long-term maintenance treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, referred to as COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema) to relieve symptoms. The approval of Respimat was based on data from two pivotal Phase III trials (TONADO-1, -2). The study involved more than 5,000 COPD patients. The data showed that compared with placebo, tiotropium bromide and olodaterol monotherapy, patients' lung function (FEV1) was statistically significantly improved, and it had a similar safety profile to tiotropium bromide or olodaterol.
Feng Naide, head of Boehringer Ingelheim's human pharmaceuticals business in Greater China, said: "Boehringer Ingelheim has been working in the field of respiratory diseases for more than 90 years, especially in the field of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and has developed and launched many excellent products. We are very happy We are pleased to bring tiotropium bromide, olodaterol and Respimat to COPD patients and doctors in China. At the same time, we are committed to working with experts and doctors in the respiratory field in China to contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment of COPD in China and benefiting Chinese COPD patients.
Siliva soft mist inhalation uses tiotropium bromide (long-acting anticholinergic drug LAMA) as the agent. The aerosol lasts longer, extending to more than 1.2 seconds. The aerosol injection speed is slow, and the ideal particle content is as high as 70%, ensuring efficient deposition of the drug in the lungs, reaching 51.6%. It provides the possibility to reduce the dose of inhaled drugs while maintaining the same efficacy. Moreover, the new device is easy to use, requiring only three actions: "turn, open, and press", greatly improving patient compliance.Recommended related articles:
