Instructions for tiotropium bromide and olodaterol

Tiotropium bromide and olodaterol Respimat were developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. They are long-acting anticholinergic drugs that have selective inhibitory effects on M3 receptors. They have the advantages of long maintenance of blood concentration and minimal side effects. The specifications of each box are 60 puffs/bottle + 1 Respirnt inhalation device.

Main ingredients: tiotropium bromide

Indications: It is suitable for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema) and related dyspnea. It can improve the quality of life of COPD patients and reduce acute exacerbations of COPD.

Usage and dosage: Tiotropium bromide, olodaterol, and Respimat can only be used by inhalation. Bottles containing tiotropium bromide may only be used by inserting the Respimat inhalation device and inhaling it through the Respimat inhalation device. The recommended dose for adults is 2 puffs taken once daily via the Respimat inhaler device at the same time. Patients should not overdose.

Special groups: Elderly patients do not need to change the dosage. COPD rarely occurs in children, and the safety of the medication is unknown. Patients with renal insufficiency can use it at the recommended dosage. However, for patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance ≤50ml/minute), the use of this product should be closely monitored. Patients with hepatic impairment do not require medication adjustments.

Adverse reactions: Common adverse reactions are dry mouth (3.2%), and serious adverse reactions include glaucoma, constipation, intestinal obstruction including paralytic ileus, urinary retention, etc.

Contraindications: Tiotropium and olodaterol should not be used in patients who are allergic to tiotropium bromide, atropine or their derivatives (such as ipratropium bromide, oxitropium bromide) or to any excipients of this product.
