Specific usage

It needs to be taken orally, once daily, with or without food. Veozah needs to be taken with water and swallowed whole. The tablets should not be cut, chewed or crushed to avoid damaging the shape of the medicine and affecting absorption.

Patients should take the medication at roughly the same time every day to help maintain blood drug levels in the body. If you forget to take your medicine or miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible. However, if it is less than 12 hours before the next dose, there is no need to take a supplementary dose and you can take the medication normally the next day.

The recommended dosage is 45 mg taken orally as one tablet, and patients are advised to take the medication under the guidance of a doctor. During treatment, do not increase or decrease the dose of the drug without permission, and do not stop the drug at will.

Medication precautions

1. Before starting treatment with fezonatant, patients should undergo baseline blood tests to assess liver function and injury, including serum bilirubin, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST). When using VEOZAH, if symptoms of liver damage such as vomiting, yellowing of the skin or eyes, and nausea occur 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months after the start of treatment, a follow-up blood test should be performed in a timely manner.

2. Patients should pay attention to their diet during treatment and avoid spicy, raw and cold foods such as chili peppers, spicy hotpots, and ice cream to avoid improper diet that affects drug absorption.

3. If the patient has severe diarrhea during treatment, he should consult a doctor in time and determine whether to discontinue the drug or reduce the dose under the doctor's evaluation.

4. Patients with known liver cirrhosis and severe renal impairment should not use this drug. They should avoid using CYP1A2 inhibitors during medication to avoid drug interactions and adverse reactions.

Vasomotor symptoms (VMS) are common, bothersome, and can persist for years before and after menopause. Daily fezonatant 30 mg and 45 mg is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of moderate to severe menopause-related VMS. Fezonetant dose statistically significantly reduced VMS frequency/severity at both W4 and W12 compared with placebo.
