Wynzora Cream

It is a combination of the vitamin D analog calcipotriene and the corticosteroid betamethasone dipropionate, indicated for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis in patients 18 years of age and older.

Although the pharmacological and clinical effects of calcipotriene and the corticosteroid betamethasone dipropionate are known, the exact mechanism of action in plaque psoriasis is unknown and may be related to topical anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties that reduce hyperproliferation of keratinocytes and help normalize keratinocyte differentiation.

Wynzora Cream for Psoriasis

Wynzora Cream is rapidly absorbed and works quickly, improving patient satisfaction and increasing adherence to topical treatments.

Study Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of Wynzora cream used twice weekly to treat psoriasis.

Study Methods: The Phase III trial consisted of a 4-week open-label run-in period and a 52-week randomized, double-blind maintenance period. A total of 545 patients were successfully treated and were randomly assigned to active management (n = 272) or reactive management (n = 273) to receive rescue treatment with Wynzora cream twice weekly and once daily for 4 weeks after relapse.

Study results: A total of 251 randomized patients (46.1%) completed the trial. The median time to first relapse was 56 days (active) and 30 days (passive). Over a year, patients in the active treatment group experienced 41 more days of remission than those in the passive treatment group. The number of relapses exposed per year was 3.1 (active) and 4.8 (passive), and Wynzora cream was well tolerated.

Proper use of Wynzora Cream

Apply Wynzora Cream to the affected area once a day, making sure the patch is saturated with Wynzora Cream. The maximum duration of application is 8 weeks, and the dosage should not exceed 100 grams per week. You can consult your doctor to stop treatment when the condition is under control.

Wynzora Cream is not intended for use on the face, eyes, groin, or armpits, or for oral or vaginal use.

Medication

1. Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria are observed during treatment with Wynzora cream. If hypercalcemia or hypercalciuria occurs, treatment should be discontinued until calcium metabolism parameters are normal.

2. Allergic contact dermatitis may occur with topical application of Wynzora cream, which can be confirmed by diagnostic patch testing.
