The safety and effectiveness are based on three Phase 3 clinical trials involving 1,493 patients with active psoriatic arthritis. Compared with patients treated with placebo, patients treated with Apremilast showed improvement in PsA signs and symptoms. The ACR20 response rates of the Apremilast group and the placebo group were 32-41% and 18-19% respectively; Apremilast is an oral antirheumatic drug with a new mechanism of action.
