Clofazimine is mostly used to treat infections caused by leprosy and mycobacterial complex. Its mechanism of action is mainly by interfering with bacterial nucleic acid metabolism, binding to its DNA, inhibiting RNA polymerase, blocking RNA synthesis, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, and playing an antibacterial effect.

Research purpose: To observe the effectiveness of clofazimine combined with conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs in the treatment of multi-drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis [1].
Research methods: A total of 80 patients diagnosed with multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis through drug sensitivity tests were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs, while the observation group was treated with clofazimine in addition to conventional drugs. Statistically compare clinical data such as phlegm negative conversion rate, treatment effects and adverse reactions.
Research results: After 3 months of treatment, the sputum negative conversion rates of the observation group and the control group were 32.50% and 12.50% respectively, with significant differences (P<0.05). After 6 months of treatment, the effective rates of treatment in the observation group and the control group were 72.50% and 32.50%, with significant differences (P<0.05). In terms of adverse reactions, only the observation group had skin discoloration, and there was no significant difference in other adverse reactions (P>0.05).
Research conclusion: Clofazimine combined with conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs is safe and worthy of promotion for the treatment of multi-drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis.
