As a first-line drug and recommended drug for preventing nausea and vomiting caused by highly emetogenic anti-tumor chemotherapy, (Aprepitant Capsules) has been unanimously recommended by authoritative European and American guidelines such as the National Cancer Comprehensive Network Clinical Application Guidelines (NCCN). Today let’s find out why we must take Yimei (Aprepitant Capsules) during chemotherapy?

Cancer has become the second leading cause of death in my country, and for many patients receiving chemotherapy, nausea and vomiting follow them like a nightmare. Professor Jiao Shunchang, chief physician of the Department of Medical Oncology at the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and a standing member of the Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, said that nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy are the most common adverse reactions of chemotherapy, which may lead to metabolic disorders, impaired body function, malnutrition, and even make patients refuse further chemotherapy, affecting patients' quality of life and anti-tumor treatment effects.

Aprepitant capsules, administered in combination with other antiemetic drugs, are indicated for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting during initial and repeated treatment with highly emetogenic antineoplastic chemotherapy. After being launched on the market, aprepitant has been in the first-line recommended position in the anti-emetic regimen of chemotherapy drugs with high risk of vomiting, and its efficacy and safety have been clinically recognized.

Yimei’s antiemetic mechanism is:

Yimei can bind to neurokinin-1 receptors, block substance P, and improve symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Yimei also has a high binding rate to protein. Combining this drug with other antiemetics can improve the antiemetic effect and improve patients' treatment compliance.

Yimei Usage and Dosage:

Imeda is a three-day intervention and includes a course of treatment with a corticosteroid and a 5-HT3 antagonist. The recommended dose of Yimei is 125 mg taken orally one hour before chemotherapy on the first day, and 80 mg once daily in the morning on the second and third days.

The beautiful effect is as follows:

In a multicenter, randomized, double-blind controlled clinical trial, patients treated with high-dose (≥70 mg·m) cisplatin experienced highly emetogenic reactions after receiving chemotherapy. The control group received intravenous injection of 20 mg ondansetron on day 1 and oral administration of 20 mg dexamethasone on day 1; 8 mg·d dexamethasone was taken twice on days 2 to 4.

The experimental group received 12 mg dexamethasone and 125 mg aprepitant orally on day 1, 8 mg dexamethasone on days 2-4, and 80 mg·d aprepitant on days 2 and 3. The effect of the test group was obviously better than that of the control group; taking aprepitant significantly delayed the time to nausea, and also had a good effect on delayed vomiting.
