How long does it take for baricitinib/alemin to take effect?

Baricitinib(Baricitinib) is aJAK inhibitor that is widely used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, COVID-19, alopecia areata and other diseases. The usual dose of baricitinib in the treatment of alopecia areata is2 mg once daily. For patients with inadequate clinical response, physicians may increase the dose to 4 mg once daily. The treatment effects of alopecia areata usually take a long time to be observed. There may be no obvious effect within 1 month after treatment starts, but within 3 to 6 months, patients will begin to see hair re-grow in the hair loss area. In some patients with severe alopecia areata, especially those with almost complete hair loss, a higher dose (e.g., 4 mg once daily) may be required, with the dose gradually reduced after symptoms subside.
