Lerochol (Lerodalcibep-liga) dosage and usage
Lerochol (Lerodalcibep-liga) is a novel PCSK9 inhibitor mainly used to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia, especially in adult patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). As an auxiliary drug, Lerochol can be combined with diet control and appropriate exercise to provide a more comprehensive treatment plan.
1. Recommended dose:The recommended dose of Lerochol is 300mg, and patients should receive a subcutaneous injection once a month. To assess LDL-C levels, it is recommended that the first test be performed 4 weeks after starting the drug. If patients continue to receive monthly dosing, LDL-C monitoring can be performed at any time during treatment, regardless of the specific timing of dosing.

2. Adjustment of missed doses: If the patient misses an injection for less than 7 days, it is recommended that the patient undergo an injection of Lerochol as soon as possible and resume the original monthly dosage plan. If the missed dose is 7 days or more, the patient should get the injection as soon as possible and start a new monthly dosing schedule based on the date of the missed dose. This adjustment is to ensure the continuity of the drug's efficacy and avoid fluctuations in cholesterol levels due to missed doses.
3. Medication management: When usingLerochol, patients and their caregivers need to be trained on how to prepare and use the drug correctly. Patients should carefully read the medication's instructions before each use to ensure safe and effective administration. The recommended injection site is the abdomen or the front of the thigh. If the injection is performed by medical staff or nursing staff, the back of the upper arm can also be selected. Be sure to avoid injecting into areas of skin that are tender, bruised, red, or hardened. In addition, the injection site should be rotated with each administration to reduce the occurrence of local reactions.
To ensure safety and efficacy, patients should ensure they use the entire 300 mg dose after injection. Before removing the syringe from the injection site, push the plunger down until the syringe is completely empty.
