What diseases does Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets treat?

Donepezil (Donepezil) is used to treat Alzheimer's disease (AD; a brain disease that slowly destroys memory and the ability to think, learn, communicate and perform daily activities). Donepezil belongs to the cholinesterase inhibitor class of drugs. It improves mental function (such as memory, concentration, ability to interact with others, ability to speak, think clearly, and carry out daily activities) by increasing the amount of a naturally occurring substance in the brain. Donepezil may improve thinking and memory skills or slow the loss of these abilities in people with Alzheimer's disease. However, donepezil will not cure AD or prevent the loss of mental abilities at some point in the future.
