Are Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets effective in treating Alzheimer's disease?

Donepezil (Donepezil) is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor widely used to treat mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Its mechanism is mainly by increasing the levels of acetylcholine in the brain, thereby improving neurotransmitter transmission and slowing down the decline of cognitive function. In the short term, donepezil has shown some efficacy in improving cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease. Some studies have found that donepezil treatment groups performed better on ADAS-cog scores compared with placebo. The short-term efficacy is mainly reflected in the improvement of memory, attention and executive functions. Some studies have pointed out that donepezil can maintain its improvement in cognitive function during treatment for as long as 6 months to 1 year.
