How to take Deferasirox dispersible tablets

Deferasirox dispersible tablets (Deferasirox) is an iron chelator used to treat chronic iron overload caused by blood transfusion. Also used in patients with non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia syndrome and in patients with elevated liver iron concentrations and serum ferritin. Deferasirox dispersible tablets are only available by prescription and treatment should be initiated and supervised by a physician experienced in treating chronic iron overload. Available in 90 mg, 180 mg and 360 mg, take once daily at approximately the same time. The starting dose of deferasirox dispersible tablets depends on the patient's weight, intended use of the drug, and level of iron overload. The dose is then adjusted as needed every 3 to 6 months, based on iron levels in the blood.
