What kind of medicine is ceritinib/ceritinib?
Ceritinib/Ceritinib is an oral targeted therapy drug that is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is mainly used to treat certain types of non-small cell lung cancer. Ceritinib/Ceritinib’s main function is to target a type of abnormal protein called ALK fusion gene, ALK. In some patients with NSCLC, the ALK gene may be fused with other genes, resulting in the production of an ALK fusion gene. This gene fusion promotes the growth and spread of cancer cells, thereby exacerbating tumor development. Ceritinib/Ceritinib can specifically inhibit the activity of ALK fusion protein, prevent the growth and spread of cancer cells, thereby effectively controlling the progression of ALKpositive NSCLC. It is widely used in the treatment of patients with ALK fusion-positive advanced or metastatic NSCLC, especially those who are ineffective or inapplicable to traditional chemotherapy.
