Sirolimus (sirolimus) is the generic name of the natural product rapamycin designated in the United States. It has demonstrated effective immunosuppressive activity in animal models of organ transplantation and is approved by clinical trials and subsequent regulatory agencies for the prevention of kidney transplant rejection. Sirolimus is an immunosuppressive treatment for organ transplantation and is suitable for kidney transplant recipients over 13 years old to prevent organ rejection. Temsirolimus, also known as temsirolimus, is an ester of sirolimus (rapamycin). It blocks the translation of cell cycle regulatory proteins by selectively inhibiting the target of rapamycin (mTOR) and prevents the overexpression of angiogenic factors. It is mainly used clinically for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma.
