Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (Viread) is an antiviral drug commonly used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. It belongs to the nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) category of drugs, which can block the replication of HIV virus in the human body, reduce the number of viruses, and improve immune system function. It can be used alone or in combination with other antiretroviral drugs. It can also be used to treat hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It can inhibit the synthesis of hepatitis B virus DNA, reduce virus replication in the liver, and improve liver function.
