What are the therapeutic benefits of voriconazole?

Voriconazole (Voriconazole) is a triazole broad-spectrum antifungal drug and a derivative of fluconazole. Voriconazole can be used to treat severe invasive infections caused by fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans, invasive aspergillosis, severe infections caused by Actinomyces species and Fusarium species. Voriconazole has significant efficacy in the treatment of invasive aspergillosis, has strong bactericidal activity against Aspergillus, and is significantly more effective than amphotericin b, itraconazole, and echinocandins. Voriconazole is more effective than itraconazole against Cryptococcus neoformans, Candida Portuguese, and Candida albicans. Voriconazole is also being studied as a preventive treatment in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients .
