Linezolid (Linezolid) is a first-generation oxidative phosphatase inhibitor antibiotic. It is a synthetic antibacterial drug with broad-spectrum activity, mainly used to treat Gram-positive bacterial infections, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Linezolid blocks bacterial protein synthesis by inhibiting 23S rRNA. Although linezolid is a first-generation oxidative phosphatase inhibitor, it is widely used clinically, especially in the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis and drug-resistant Gram-positive bacterial infections, and has important therapeutic significance. Nonetheless, long-term or high-dose use of linezolid may cause some serious side effects, such as neurological problems and optic neuritis, and therefore requires close monitoring and appropriate usage strategies.
