Vadadustat: An Innovative Oral Treatment for Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease

Vadadustat is an oral hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor used for treating anemia caused by chronic kidney disease. It works by mimicking the body's physiological response to low oxygen conditions. This stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factors, leading to an endogenous and physiological increase in erythropoietin production.
