Lebrasen was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration on December 20, 2019 for the treatment of insomnia in adults. Suvore was first approved by the United States in 2014.

The difference in pharmacokinetics between Leborexen and Suvorexan

Results: Among 1,006 randomized participants, treatment with both doses of leboresen demonstrated statistically significant greater changes from baseline in objective sleep onset time, as assessed by latency-to-sustained sleep time measured using polysomnography at the end of 1 month of treatment, compared with placebo. For nights 29 and 30, the mean change from baseline in sleep efficiency measured using polysomnography and post-sleep awakening episodes increased significantly. Furthermore, for nights 29 and 30, post-sleep arousal occurred significantly higher in the second half of the night than with zolpidem treatment.

Conclusion: This randomized clinical trial shows that Lebraxen can significantly improve patients' ability to fall asleep and maintain better sleep quality. Treatment with leborexan was well tolerated.
