[Rivaroxaban drug name] Xarelto, Rivaroxaban, Xarelto

[Indications for Rivaroxaban] It has been approved for the prevention of venous thrombosis (VTE) in adult patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery; and the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in adults to reduce the risk of DVT recurrence and pulmonary embolism (PE) after acute DVT.

Rivaroxaban is also recommended for use in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism. The efficacy of rivaroxaban is not inferior to warfarin, the incidence of intracranial hemorrhage is lower than warfarin, and routine monitoring of anticoagulation intensity is not required.

[Rivaroxaban usage and dosage]

(1) Hip and knee replacement: 10 mg once a day for 35 days and 12 days for knee replacement.

(2) DVT and PE: On days 1 to 21, 15 mg or 30 mg twice a day; on days 22 and later, 20 mg or 20 mg once a day.

(3) Non-valvular atrial fibrillation: 20 mg once a day. For patients with low body weight and advanced age (>75 years old), 15 mg can be used as appropriate, once a day.

(4) The 10 mg tablet can be taken on an empty stomach or with food; the 15 mg or 20 mg tablet should be taken with food.

(5) If the whole tablet cannot be swallowed, crush the tablet, mix it with applesauce and take it orally immediately.

(6) If a missed dose occurs, the dose should be taken immediately and the dose should not be doubled in one day to make up for the missed dose.

[Adverse reactions of Rivaroxaban]

Blood and lymphatic system diseases: agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia;

Intestinal diseases: retroperitoneal bleeding;

Hepatobiliary diseases: jaundice, cholestasis, hepatitis (including liver cell damage);

Immune system diseases: hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, anaphylactic shock, angioedema;

Nervous system diseases: cerebral hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, hemiparesis;

Skin and subcutaneous tissue: Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

[Precautions for Rivaroxaban]

(1) If you have high blood pressure, please actively control your blood pressure.

(2) Use a soft-bristled toothbrush in daily life to clean your teeth regularly to reduce the risk of gum bleeding. Keep stool smooth and prevent constipation.

(3) Before performing invasive operations, surgery, adding other drugs, or switching to other anticoagulants, please be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist that you are taking rivaroxaban.

(4) If abnormalities such as conjunctival bleeding, epistaxis, gum bleeding, skin ecchymosis, menorrhagia, hematuria, melena, etc. occur, please seek medical attention immediately.

(5) Monitor liver and kidney function and hemoglobin regularly before taking Rivaroxaban and during taking the drug.
